Pratiksha, currently studies in 7th grade. She is the 1st batch of students of Anandghar to whom we enrolled in school in 2016. Pratiksha used to work as a waste picker along with her mother and younger brother getting enrolled in schools. She is still a regular student of Anandghar.
Anandghar runs from Monday to Friday; so she along with her friends decided to run their own Anandghar for the children from the community on every Saturday.
They started the campaign from Thursday last week. Asked each and every student of Anandghar whether they would like to join 'their' Anandghar on Saturday. Noted down names of the interested children and then on Saturday they inaugurated their Anandghar with 25+ children in the narrow lanes outside her home.
You can see Pratiksha Didi, Shalu Didi, Roshani Didi and Bhuri Didi teaching kids in this picture shared with me by Pratiksha after hugely successful 1st day.
PS. They also distributed Bananas as nutritional food just like Anandghar
